Using the Color Wheel
The color wheel control located on the bas color panel of
ColorImpact version 3, is a very handy tool for adjusting the base color. This
article highlights a couple of features you may not have noticed.
Use constraints for precise color selection
When using the color wheel to adjust the base color in ColorImpact 3, you
can use the Ctrl and Shift buttons to constrain the color selection:
-
When holding down the Ctrl button, the hue value is locked and you
only adjust the saturation.
-
When holding down the Shift button, the saturation value is locked
and you only adjust the hue.
Adjusting the color wheel according to your preference
If
you have any formal art training, you may have become accustomed to a certain
way of placing the colors on the color wheel. Some people prefer the red color
on top, and some prefer it to the right.
And you may be accustomed to arranging
the rainbow colors clockwise or counter-clockwise from the starting position.
Setting up the color wheel to match your preference is easy:
Select Settings from the Edit menu.
Click on the Base Color section.

You can now use the controls to adjust the color wheel according to your preferences.
